Past this, I simply cannot watch any streamer streaming even outside of events if they’re using this stretched resolution, so they might want to consider how this tactic might be losing them viewers for no real benefit.
I suppose if you play long enough you might get used to this resolution, but as an observer, watching in this mode is a recipe to make your eyes hurt, and it very much damages the enjoyment of the event itself.
When Summer Skirmish kept panning to players using the stretched screen (I’d say it was close to half, last time), I felt seasick, and I know I wasn’t alone, as Twitch chat was screaming the same thing every time. Two, whether it is or isn’t an advantage, it is simply god awful to look at.
